Months after Bobbi Kristina Brown's death, her boyfriend, Nick Gordon, could possibly face murder charges. Us Weekly reports that the DA is assembling a secret grand jury and Gordon could be arrested anytime.
An insider told the news outlet that the DA must still identify what Gordon's charges will be, but they are pushing for murder charges. The source further explains that the DA is seeking legal help so that the murder charges will not be revoked.
Daily Mail's source also noted that once Gordon's warrant is issued, he can voluntarily turn himself in. But considering that this is a high-profile case, clouded with controversy and scrutiny of the public eye, the police does not want to risk anything.
The source said, "In all likelihood it would be Seminole County that would make the arrest and when there's a question of it coming from another state as this would it's highly unlikely they'd trust him to turn himself in. It would be a minimum of two cars sent and more if they thought there was any question of him resisting.
"And they wouldn't just let him walk in and walk out – he would have to be processed through court and bailed or spend a night in the cells if it happened too late in the day for the court to sit," the source said.
July this year, Bobbi Kristina, the only daughter of Whitney Houston and Bobby Brown, died in hospice care after months of being in a coma. Less than a month after, her conservator, Bedelia Hargrove, filed an amended lawsuit, per USA Today.
According to the documents obtained by USA Today, Bobbi Kristina's camp cited Nick Gordon to be at fault for her death. The lawsuit accused Gordon of assault, battery, intentional infliction of emotional distress and unauthorized transfer of money.
Daily Mail reported that Gordon appealed to dismiss the case, but he withdrew his action on Sept. 9.
"The Motion was frivolous and instead of having it heard by the Court he has chosen to withdraw the Motion, ending that matter so that he could avoid having to give his deposition which was scheduled for the day he withdrew the Motion," Christopher Brown, Bobby Brown's lawyer, said regarding Gordon's sudden withdrawal.
Meanwhile, Nick Gordon's mother, Michelle, tried to defend his son from the allegations, saying, "The passing of Bobbi Kristina is devastating to Nick and our family. Nick loved and cared for Krissi deeply, and he has suffered greatly each and every day they've been apart. Nick and our family are in mourning, and we ask that you respect our privacy. Our thoughts and prayers are with both the Houstons and the Browns during this difficult time."
