Anticipation over 2016's “Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice” goes higher – not only for the fans, but also for Warner Bros.
In an interview with Variety, Ben Affleck said that the studio has high hopes for the film, wherein he will don Batman's suit.
“I think there is a ton of pressure on it,” he said.
Affleck added the 2016 film might give the studio as much needed turnaround, as it had struggles with some films in 2015.
“You’ll see next year they are going to have a great year,” he explained. “They are now developing […] probably the single greatest under-exploited IP asset in the entertainment business, the DC comic world. And now they have started to exploit that and you are going to see that blossom. And, when it does, it’s going to be massive.”
The actor also gave praises to Warner CEO Kevin Tsujihara, who has been involved in the making of the film.
“I was really impressed by that and by the intelligence of his notes, and the fact that he cared,” Affleck said. “It was not like some guys, especially at that level, where it would be, ‘We need a franchise movie … we just need a movie with the names ‘Batman’ and ‘Superman’ on it and it doesn’t matter what it is. For him, that wasn’t it. He was willing to take longer to make the movie to get it right to make it a movie of higher quality.”
Indeed, a lot of effort has been into making sure that “Batman V Superman” succeeds. Rocksteady's game “Batman: Arkham Knight” is also giving its support to the superhero clash movie.
Batman News reported that the November DLC for the aforementioned game is already available, and it features some details regarding “Batman V Superman,” including Batman and the Batmobile. Here's the trailer:
The game, which is available for the Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC, features various DLCs. One such DLC, the "Batman V Superman" DLC, enables players to play as Affleck's Batman, and cruise around Gotham in the new Batmobile.
Apparently, the pressure for “Batman V Superman” to succeed is high, as seen in the efforts given to it. Batman himself agrees.
“Nonetheless, there’s a lot of pressure on it,” said Affleck. “If it doesn’t do well, that will be extremely disappointing.”
