Primary School Head Teacher Appeals To Parents Who Wear Pajamas In School

England's primary school head teacher pleads to parents to wash and get dressed first before dropping their children to school every morning.

According to thejournal.ie, it's like enough is enough for Kate Chisholm, Darlington's Skerne Park Academy head teacher. She wrote a note to the parents of their pupils after noticing that many of them are observed wearing their pajamas and slippers every morning at the school gate, during classroom meetings and even during parent's assemblies.

The Sun posted that Chrisholm expects the parents to set as a good role model to their children and it's already about time to do something that is why she was forced to write a letter stating to wash first and get properly dressed according to the weather before they drive their children to school or attend school gatherings.

Phil Naylor, one of the pupil's father, stated that he was also pleased to receive the note because almost 10 parents every day try to walk in school escorting their children with their pajamas on and more or less almost the same people do it every now and then. Others even try to reason out that they are wearing "outdoor" pajamas, but Naylor believed there is no such thing as "outdoor" pajamas.

Furthermore, Chrisholm believed that raising a standard such as dressing up properly is not too much to ask from parents. She defended that she is not trying to tell the parents what to do with their own lives; instead, she only wants them to set a good example for the young ones, getting up early, fixing yourself and getting modestly dressed is enough as posted on BBC News.

Hence, the school believed that the community should be guiding the children and not having them learn the 'bad habits'. Negative feedback is anticipated but still some of the parents in school are positive towards the idea and expecting to see the change soon.

Chisholm also revealed that since her "special note to parents" has gone public, she has already received more than 150 supportive emails and phone calls from parents and other headteachers in Darlington and even elsewhere.
