Singer-songwriter Alanis Morissette announced on Feb. 12, Friday, that she is expecting her second child with husband Mario "Souleye" Treadway. Morissette made the announcement in an adorable baby announcement video with a song.
The animated video wrote that the song was written, recorded and produced in 6 hours on May 22, 2010 to surprise Souleye. The video was created even before the birth of the singer's first son Ever in 2010.
"Brenden Huza helped tell our story in moving pictures, bringing us up to this sweet moment. May this song take on ever-deepening meaning as each year goes by :) xoxo," Morissette wrote in the video. The singer updates the video with special moments of her and her growing family.
Initially, the video was first made by the couple appearing in animated form telling their love story. Now, the video includes highlights of their romance and the birth of their first child.
The most recent update includes a video of Morissette getting a sonogram and gazing at ultrasound images of their newest addition. Morissette, who is 41-years old, married Treadway, who is 35-years old, in 2010 and welcomed their first child not long after.
Morissette's first child, Ever Imre Morissette-Treadway is now 5 years old. Before the birth of Ever, the Canadian singer had admitted that the pregnancy was a happy surprise, People reported.
In October 2015, Morissette said that her son is amazing. "He's just coming into his own. We're having real bona fide philosophical conversations. About anything - about aliens, about the galaxy, about what God is, about animals. You just cross your fingers behind your back and hope you don't blow it," says Morissette to Us Magazine.
In the same interview, Morissette said that her marriage has been a work in progress as she and her husband have been helping each other out. "I think relationships go from infatuation to power struggle, and then most people break up. I think it's getting juicy as we're going on the third phase of helping each other heal and grow," said Morissette.
The award-winning singer has been very vocal about her breastfeeding advocacies of wanting to change the face of American motherhood. Morissette was part of a U.S. documentary film entitled "The Milky Way" that wanted to debunk the current shames surrounding breastfeeding and empower every woman in the process.
