Everyone definitely wanted to land a job as an extra for Kanye West's Yeezy Season 3 fashion show. Let's face it, most people who try to be an extra just want to have the chance to see and take a photo with Kim Kardashian's hubby. But as it turns out, the job is anything but fun.
This new information came to light after a Yeezy Season 3 extra who shared what it's like to land a job on a Kanye West fashion show.
The report was published in Harper's Bazaar amidst claims that West threatened legal action against anyone who divulges any information about the presentation.
According to the New York Daily News, extras can expect "$100 for a long day's work, limited bathroom breaks, draconian secrecy, little explanation of what's going on and zero face time with the rap star himself."
The expose, written by Ukim Lee, said that the showrunners offered a measly $100 to each of the 1,200 extras for a fatigue-inducing, hours-long show that featured audience members such as the Kardashian-Jenner clan, Lamar Odom, Jay Z, Anna Wintour, among many other notable celebrities. An excerpt from the piece reads:
"Walkie-talkie people urge us through more checkpoints, where they take our bags of clothes and hand us teeny packets of fruit snacks and oranges to eat. We're allotted our first bathroom break. I feel like a prisoner," reads an excerpt from the piece.
Meanwhile, one of the Yeezy Season 3 models compared the experience to that of World War II. Published on Jezebel, the anecdote read:
"On the bus driving back to the garden, there was a moment when I was like, 'I don't want to do this anymore. I feel like I'm headed to a concentration camp. It feels odd. I don't know anybody.' It was a weird feeling."
