Benedict Cumberbatch, and the rest of the cast and crew of BBC's "Sherlock" haven't even started filming season 4 yet, but so many news and spoilers of what's to come are already surfacing.
One of the first news to be released (and confirmed) was the location for the upcoming shoots. According to Wales Online, scenes for "Sherlock" season 4 would be filmed at the Pinewood Studios Wales, while location filming will be shot in South Wales as well.
Pinewood Studios boasts of 70,000 square feet of shooting space, including two stages spanning 20,000 square feet. The studio located near Cardiff has been home to several other films, such as "Assassin's Creed," "Alice Through the Looking Glass," and "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows."
Other details regarding "Sherlock" season 4 is still kept under lock in key, except for some previously released information from the show's creators, Steven Moffat and Mark Gatiss.
In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Moffat revealed that the upcoming season will be much darker than its preceding seasons. "We're going to try to take it somewhere we've never been before - and I don't mean outer space," Moffat joked.
"It will be a challenging place to go. We always start with a re-introduction that builds toward a darker climax - we just might be going darker [from the outset]. We got a very, very good set of ideas," he continued.
Even better, Moffat noted that the upcoming season will be bigger and better than its previous three seasons.
"We have a plan to top it," said Steven Moffat. "And I do think our plan is devastating. We've practically reduced our cast to tears telling them the plan ... we're probably more excited than we've ever been about 'Sherlock.'"
"Sherlock" season 4 is set for filming this year, and will air sometime later this year.
