Losing a child can be one of the scariest experiences any parent could have. Take for instance, Willie Wu, who experienced losing his daughter for an hour at an amusement park. While the ordeal gave him the fright of his life, it led to the invention of a very promising wearable - the Smart Wristband.
Losing his daughter "It was the worst hour of his life," Wu's sister shared during an interview at the Toy Fair 2016. It was a good thing that, "His child did everything right-waiting in one place with an employee of the park.
According to Parenting, that harrowing experience of Wu led him to design BuddyTag. This device will help parents located in the area where their child is, but would like an additional security.
One of the features of the wearable BuddyTag is an out of range alert, which will give a warning to the parent whenever the child is already between 80-120 feet away from him. It also features a water safety alert, which will be useful in case of drowning.
If the child is scared, he can easily push the panic alarm button to warn the parent. Lastly, parents can track the whereabouts of their children easily, so they'll know where their actual location in real time. And, along with this, a personal ID is available to help parents locate their child when the latter gets lost.
Wareable said that these child tracking devices owe a lot of their efficacy to GPS technology. The costs of such devices have actually lowered over time.
The wearable BuddyTag is a good example. It came out two years ago but the original version was somewhat bulky. The new one is waterproof, works with Bluetooth, and runs on the latest versions of Android and iPhone. It is also said to be way better than its predecessor.
