Twins giving birth to twins is somewhat expected, but for it to happen twice in a row, is something more than just amazing. These identical twin sisters from Salt Lake City, Utah are already mothers to twins, but they have taken motherhood to the next level by giving birth to twins again.
Kerri Bunker and Kelli Wall have been doing things together for as far as they can remember. But what they don't expect is that their fate as mothers will still be identical.
In a report by Yahoo News, the twin sisters were quite surprised when they found out that they will be giving birth to twins again. According to Bunker, she and her husband were not merely surprised, but they were shocked upon finding out the situation of her pregnancy. She said, "Our jaws dropped. We weren't trying for kids, we weren't expecting them, not let alone two."
On the other hand, Wall and husband have been trying to have another child, just one who will make everything a bit more fun at their home. While they may be yearning for one additional child, they were not expecting that they would have twins again!
According to Kerri Bunker, "Both of us still look at each other and think, 'did this really happen?" For her other twin sister, Wall, she said, "Yes, there are days I'm frightened. Oh my gosh, I think 'How can I handle this?" But she added that since they have done it once, she believes they can handle it again."
This brings a nagging question with regards to the chances of twins giving birth to twins. In a She Knows article, it stated that for singletons, the chance is one in 250 pregnancies. If you have a twin, the rate is the same. However, for fraternal twins, the chances are higher. About one in 35 pregnancies of fraternal twins would result to having twins.
Based on these statistics, what happened with the twin sisters isn't very much surprising. It's just that people don't see this happening every single day. The advantage, as what one study revealed, is that moms of twins live longer.
