Thanks to the Xbox One Backwards Compatibility Program, more and more classic games are coming (back) out to play. "Geometry Wars: Retro Evolved" arrived earlier this week, which was soon followed by the "Carcassonne" release.
"Geometry Wars: Retro Evolved" arrived on the platform late last week, whereas Microsoft's Larry "Major Nelson" Hryb announced the news on Friday via Twitter.
"Geometry Wars Evolved is now playable on Xbox One via Backward Compatibility," he captioned the accompanying photo of the "Geometry Wars: Retro Evolved" cover art.
According to Inquisitr, "Geometry Wars: Retro Evolved" is an "extension of the Geometry Wars hidden minigame" found in "Project Gotham Racing 2," a game released back in November 2005 on Xbox.
Another game added to the Xbox One Backwards Compatibility lineup, as reported by Gamespot, is "Carcassonne," an Xbox Live Arcade game originally for the Xbox 360. Larry Hryb announced the arrival of "Carcassonne" on Xbox One Backward Compatibility on Sunday, through Twitter as well.
Orginally released by Microsoft in 2007, "Carcassonne" is a video game version of the German board game with an eponymous title. A medieval strategy game, "Carcassonne" can accommodate up to four players locally on one Xbox 360, while 2-5 players online on Xbox LIVE.
"Geometry Wars: Retro Evolved" and "Carcassonne" are just two of over 130 games currently available to play on Xbox One Backwards Compatibility.
Rumors say that "Call of Duty: Black Ops" might be available on Xbox One Backward Compatibility as well.
Stay tuned for more updates on the Xbox One Backwards Compatibility lineup!
