"Person of Interest" Season 5 cast and crew are preparing for the show's possible last on TV. In an earlier interview with Comic Book Resources, actor Michael Emerson and executive producer Greg Plageman admitted that they have found ways to give fans a proper conclusion should the show be cancelled after the upcoming season.
"This has always been a show where every season finale felt like it could have been a series finale," said Plageman.
Emerson, on the other hand, admitted that "POI" Season 5 will have a "more 'finale' feeling," but the show will also leave room for new storylines in case it gets renewed for another season.
"I think probably the writers are going to leave it a little bit ambiguous, because we don't know if it's the end of 'POI' as we know it or not," Emerson told the publication.
Emerson also shared that he was open to the possibility of seeing "Person of Interest" in another form such as a mini-season or a recurring movie on TV. As more fans remain hopeful that Season 5 will not be the show's last, CBS president Glenn Geller announced that nothing has been set in stone yet.
"We haven't aired the show yet, and I'm not sure," he said, according to TVLine.
Geller echoed the sentiments of Emerson and Plageman and said that "Person of Interest" Season 5 can "function as both a season and series finale." Geller also announced that the show will be released this spring.
