Actor Ioan Gruffudd and his wife Alice Evans welcomed their second daughter on Friday the 13th, according to PEOPLE.
"We are beyond thrilled to announce the arrival of our daughter, Elsie Marigold, on Sept. 13th," the couple tells PEOPLE in a statement. "A little sister for 4-year-old Ella Betsi. We both feel very grateful and very blessed."
Alice was originally due on September 25, however it looks like little Elsie made an early arrival. The Fantastic Four actor, 39, and Alice met in 2000 while co-starring alongside each other in 102 Dalmations.
After seven years together, they finally wed in Mexico in 2007 after Alice gave Ioan an ultimatum. He said during their engagement: 'Alice has been very patient with my procrastinating with my male ways! She did give me somewhat of an ultimatum - a gentle nudge - which was the best thing she could do, really.'
In an interview with the Daily Mail last year, Ioan revealed the struggles the couple had gone through to conceive their eldest daughter Ella. He said: 'We'd wanted a baby for a while and after it didn't happen for us naturally we said, "Let's take what science has to offer." Luckily for us, it worked the first time so it wasn't a long, hard struggle.
'Then there's the whole other worry of, "Are we going to get to 12 weeks?". It was a long, anxious process and then Alice was on bed rest for the last eight weeks because of high blood pressure, which is quite serious.'
