Nina Dobrev, Ian Somerhalder Split: ‘Delena’ Set to Reunite on ‘The Originals?’

"Delena" fans have been asking for a reunion between Nina Dobrev and Ian Somerhalder on "The Vampire Diaries," but it looks like fans may get their wish come true in its spinoff series, "The Originals." Will Damon and Elena leave Mystic Falls?

Ian Somerhalder and Nina Dobrev are expected to reunite on "The Vampire Diaries," as rumors are rife that Dobrev's character, Elena Gilbert, will appear in the CW's series finale. Executive producer Julie Plec previously confirmed this possibility, but a recent report claims that Dobrev may reprise her role in another show.

Dobrev is reportedly keen on reprising her role as Elena Gilbert in "The Originals," Inquisitr reported. As most fans and viewers know, some of the characters in "TVD" join the spinoff series, which only makes perfect sense to see Elena in the said show.

When Dobrev decided to leave "The Vampire Diaries" after Season 6, Elena was left in a coma instead of killing her, which paved the way for a possible return of her character in the series. Somerhalder's character, Damon Salvatore, also made a decision to go into a deep sleep right next to Elena.

Will Dobrev and Somerhalder see their characters wake up in "The Originals?"

The publication noted that Dobrev's addition in "The Originals" will definitely boost the show's ratings. Both "TVD" and its spinoff series have been officially renewed for another series by the CW.

While Dobrev's appearance on "The Originals" remains nothing but a speculation, Just Jared recently reported that the 27-year-old actress has been named as the next celebrity host of the Covet Fashion app.

"I couldn't be more excited to partner with Covet Fashion and engage with my fans on a completely new level," said Dobrev.

What do you think? Should Nina Dobrev and Ian Somerhalder's most awaited reunion take place on "The Originals" instead of "The Vampire Diaries?" Share your thoughts in the comments section below!
