Ever since Microsoft acquired the developer of Minecraft, Monjang, for $2.5 billion two years ago, the tech giant has been thinking non-stop to think of better ways to expand Minecraft's reach. Now, the company is planning to launch their new product, "Minecraft: Education Edition," this summer.
Microsoft's new product will be launched with the free trial version. Eventually, the company will charge the users $5 annually. According to the Daily Star, the company is now figuring out the licensing fees for a larger educational institution.

Microsoft's latest product will be featured with larger and better maps, so the educators can effectively use the game to teach the students how to explore the world of blocks. Apart from that, Minecraft can be used to teach students other major subjects such as math and history, according to Neurogadget.

MinecraftEdu's Pricing
As per School Library Journal, the current price of MinecraftEdu is $41 to run and host your own server. Then, additional $18 per user or $14 if more than 25 licenses have been purchased. However, all MinecraftEdu users will surely enjoy the one-year free subscription of Microsoft's new product when the company launches it this summer.
