The unfortunate and untimely death of Paul Walker left a huge hole in the lives of his family and friends and the "Fast and Furious" franchise as well. However, the Vin Diesel action franchise continues to bring excitement to many fans with its new additions. Scott Eastwood, -- son of Hollywood icon Clint Eastwood - has been officially cast in "Fast and Furious 8."
Paul Walker's character -- Brian O'Conner --- has always played the second-in-command role to Vin Diesel's Dominic Toretto. Is Scott Eastwood going to be Vin Diesel's new BFF and partner in crime in "Fast and Furious 8?"
Digital Spy noted that Scott Eastwood looks pretty similar to Paul Walker which could possibly mean that the two are actually long-lost brothers. The fact that Eastwood and Walker were close friends in the past can add more poignancy to the "Fast and Furious 8" movie.
Eastwood's new character will work with Kurt Russell's character, Mr. Nobody -- a government agent who will assign a new mission to Toretto and his family, Digital Spy reports. Scott Eastwood has expressed his gratitude and excitement on joining Vin Diesel and the rest of the gang in "Fast and Furious 8."
Aside from Kurt Russell, Scott Eastwood and Vin Diesel, "Fast and Furious 8" also stars Dwayne Johnson, Charlize Theron, Tyrese Gibson, Michelle Rodriguez, Jason Statham and Eva Mendes, Variety reports. The movie will be directed by F. Gary Gray and released on April 2017.
