"X-Men: Apocalypse" actress Olivia Munn bought her mom a house for Mother's Day and reveals the silly reason why she bought her such a generous gift. Munn also explains why she took on the role of Psylocke in the upcoming superhero blockbuster.
Munn explains that her mother, Kim Schmid, wanted the house located a couple doors down from her mom's actual house. But it turns out, Schmid didn't actually want to live in the new house, she just wanted to make sure no one else could.
"It's the most anti-social thing you can do, is buy the house next door to you, because you don't want somebody else to buy it and move in," said Munn. The "Attack of the Show!" star reiterates how anti-social her family is. The 35-year-old actress shares in an interview with Entertainment Tonight, that her mom would always tell her directly what she wants for Mother's Day.
Munn shares how the Munn family actually dominates a whole block. Aside from her mom, her aunt, brother and sister live just right next door to each other.
Meanwhile, Schmid, who comes from North Vietnam, revealed that she approves of her daughter's boyfriend Aaron Rodgers. Rodgers is an American football player who plays for the Green Bay Packers. Schmid also said that her family couldn't wait for her daughter and her quarterback boyfriend to get married.
Munn is busy preparing for the premier of "X-Men: Apocalypse" alongside Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence, Oscar Isaac, Rose Byrne and James McAvoy. Munn portrays Psylocke, a character with telekinesis superhero powers and superhuman strength.
The brunette actress previously said that she wanted to make sure she had a fight scene before taking on the role. During early meetings with filmmakers, Munn couldn't shake the feeling that there might be too much talking and not enough action.
While there wouldn't be much dialogue, the character would have an important presence in the movie, which was acceptable to Munn, according to an interview with American Way Magazine. Munn explains that she though Psylocke is one of the most lethal characters with real powerful abilities.
Munn also revealed that she passed on the role of being Deadpool's girlfriend Vanessa in the self-titled movie. Munn explained that she didn't want to be the girlfriend again, instead, wanted to be the one to fight, make noise, and kick butt.
