Prior to its release later this month, first-person shooter game "Overwatch" has become available for free beta testing. Game developer Blizzard have opened its live servers for "Overwatch" on Thursday.
According to Engadget, the beta version of "Overwatch" was made available for PlayStation 4, PC and Xbox One users. It can be played for free from May 5 to May 9.
During previous releases, only gamers who preordered the full version can access the "Overwatch" beta version. This time, Engadget said that anybody can play "Overwatch" for free and explore the skills of the 21 heroes in the game.
Available modes for "Overwatch" include Play vs AI, Quickplay, Custom Game and Weekly Brawl. Players can also test their skills using the various "Overwatch" game modes, such as Tutorial, Practice vs AI and Practice Range.
Geeks of Doom added that the story behind "Overwatch" revolves on a group of heroes trying to bring peace to a world which has been torn by war and fighting. This team of individuals reigned victorious with their aim to restore peace.
Over the years, their influence and efforts, however, declined. "Overwatch" will explore another world where conflict has returned and superheroes are again put to the test to defend their land.
"The call has gone out to heroes old and new. Are you with us?" said the "Overwatch" teaser, as quoted by the same report. For those wanting to download the free beta version of "Overwatch," Forbes said they should prepare 6.5GB memory for PC while the Xbox and PS4 requires a little higher at 11GB.
Forbes, however, warned that the progress of players for the "Overwatch" beta will not carry over when the game launches on May 24. The upcoming game can be purchased for $59.99.
