Fans were upset to learn that "Attack On Titan" Season 2 didn't begin airing in April as earlier expected, and now it looks like the show's return is going to be pushed to the end of 2016. Production delays have been rumored for quite some time now due to alleged lack of materials. However, this might finally be solved as "Attack On Titan" will reportedly cover the stories from "Clash Of Titans" and "Uprising."
'Attack On Titan' Season 2 New Story Arcs
The next story arcs in the "Shingeki no Kyoujin" series, otherwise known as "Attack On Titan," will reportedly involve materials from two books -- "Clash of the Titans" and "Uprising." The stories are apparently enough to cover at least 25 episodes of one full season. Headline and Global News reports that the arcs were only completed middle of last year in the manga, thus, it would fit nicely into the schedule of the anime production, which has been confirmed as on-going.
The report also belies earlier claims that "Attack On Titan" Season 2's production won't progress until it has four story arcs to complete at one season. But using simple math with "Clash of the Titans" and "Uprising," the anime will already have enough materials. The only thing fans have to wait for is the show's release date and there are indications this could be happening in late 2016.
'Attack On Titan' Season 2 Production Active, Airing Pushed
Twitter user and manga editor @Shonen_lord posted the lineup for Wit Studio, which is the production studio behind "Attack On Titan." It indicated that the show is still actively in its calendar and fans take this as a good sign.
A published magazine interview with editor Isayama Hajime and director Araki Tetsuro in March also confirms that the production is in full swing. However, MNR reports that based on the development progress, "Attack On Titan" Season 2 will likely be coming out at the end of 2016, despite earlier pronouncements that the anime will be coming during the second quarter of the year.
