"X-Men" star Jennifer Lawrence has been vocally and visibly single for some time now. Shaving cream may have played a key role in Jennifer Lawrence's singleness and the "Joy" star's break-up with ex-boyfriend Nicholas Hoult.
According to People, Jennifer Lawrence opened up about how playing Mystique the recent "X-Men" films had been stressful for her and Hoult. Whenever Jennifer Lawrence had to wear the mutant's trademark blue paint, removing the color was a challenge.

Shaving cream was apparently the one thing that made paint removal easier for Jennifer Lawrence. However her then boyfriend Nicholas Hoult, who co-stars with her as mutant Dr Hank McCoy/Beast, objected to the smell.
"It is really good for taking paint off, but Nick used to hate it because I would come home smelling like a man and, like, too tired," Jennifer Lawrence related. "I was like, 'Don't touch me, I'm too tired,' and he was like, 'You smell like a dude'."

US Weekly reports that shaving cream had not been the only issue between Jennifer Lawrence and Hoult. Both celebrities reportedly have very busy schedules that made being together difficult.
Jennifer Lawrence and Hoult tried to make a go of their relationship, shaving cream and schedules notwithstanding. However, after two years, Lawrence and Hoult decided to give their relationship a break in early 2013.

The couple hooked up again later that same year. They were together for another year before Jennifer Lawrence and Nicholas finally broke up for the last time.
Jennifer Lawrence and Nicholas Hoult will be seen together one more time when "X-Men: Apocalypse" will hit the theaters on May 18. For the time being, Jennifer Lawrence says she is doing okay and not looking for a new love to replace what she had with Hoult.
