Perfect Chase: A Book Written by an Author, Illustrated by a Child with Autism

Greater Fall River's most well-known writer Steven Manchester, recently published a book "Perfect Chase: One Reflection of Autism." The books has an accompanied illustration by an 11 year old kid with autism spectrum.

The books was conceived about a year and a half ago. It all began when Manchester met the young Chase Howard and his family. Chase's parents, Cathy and Craig, and his sisters. Kylie who is 14 years old and Jenna 10.

According to Herald News, the books are about the Howard Family story and their experience with autism. The goal is to get the books into the hand of the children to provide awareness and acceptance. Anyone a neighbor or a friend could have been living with this neurotypical disorder and yet they are just thought to be weird and different.

According to Cathy Howard, "There are certain traits that kids might find weird or different, but it's also a story about the similarities, more than the differences." The Narrators of the story in the books are Howard's sisters Kylie and Jenna. Howard's illustrations will depict the way he views things around him.

For example, Howard has fascination with movies. He especially likes Disney films. Another of his latest fascination is the movie, "The Little Rascals."

The book had a debut release on May 9, at a fundraiser known as Sophie's Promise. It is an organization that raises money in order to donate iPads to non-verbal kids with autism.

Manchester is very happy to be able to give Chase the privilege to be in the spotlight by doing the booksigning for him. Chase is enjoying every moment of it.

This time around, Manchester's happy to hand over the booksigning spotlight to Chase, who's rapidly becoming a booksigning superstar. "He's enjoying every moment of it," added Manchester.
