"Outlander" Season 2 is close to coming to an end and fans are wondering what happened to the show's intimate scenes between Jamie Fraser (Sam Heughan) and Claire Randall (Caitriona Balfe). In an interview with Rolling Stone, Caitriona Balfe explained the reason for the lack of intimate scenes for the second season of the show.
"With Season Two, I think some people are like, 'Where's all the sex?!' And it's like, well, we're telling a different story," she said. "We're not telling the story of two people falling in love and the lust of new passion - this is now a marriage."
As most fans know, "Outlander" Season 2 is based on Diana Gabaldon's second book titled "Dragonfly in Amber." Much of Season 2 has seen Jamie and Claire enter the world of politics in hopes of changing the course of history and saving their friends from becoming extinct.
Balfe also explained that the sex and rape scenes in "Outlander" always have a story to tell instead of just being a sexual or violent show. Meanwhile, spoilers for the Season 2 finale are already out.
According to TVLine, "Outlander" Season 2 finale will be a 90-minute episode. Spoilers for the upcoming finale of the Starz drama reveal that the show will flash forward to 1968, with Jamie and Claire's daughter, Bree (Sophie Skelton), already a 20-year-old lady.
Bree will discover the identity of her real father in the "Outlander" Season 2 finale. Aside from this, the grown-up version of Roger Wakefield (Richard Wankin) will also be making an appearance.
"Outlander" Season 2 finale airs on July 9 on Starz.
