Best Superhero: Study Determines Who REALLY Wins Between Batman Vs. Superman As All-Time Best Superhero

Who is the better superhero between Batman vs. Superman? For decades, fans have been debating on this and have yet to agree on one fact. But researchers from the University of Leicester could finally put an end to the argument as they have scientifically proven who is the all-time best superhero. The results were based off calculations and intensive comparisons that took years to conclude.

The study, which was published on June 10 via a press release, looked into the characteristics and assets of some of the most well-known and well-loved superheroes in pop culture. They compared the strong and weak points of Superman, Batman, The Flash, Wolverine, Iron Man, Thor, Mystique, Spider-Man, Ice Man, Silver Surfer, Black Bolt and The Lizard through a chart.

They further studied the superheroes' abilities in detail, using theories of Physics, in a supplemental feature that was also published via the university's site. The researchers concluded that the best superhero of all time is Superman. The Man of Steel's dense muscles and super flare, which the researchers computed to deliver energy at 7.07 × 105 joules per second, were considered his best assets.

The ranking was followed closely by Wolverine, Mystique and Thor, but Superman's contemporary, Batman, didn't even rank high in the study. The researchers cited that the Caped Crusader is actually the most "ill-equipped" superhero despite his use of different high tech gadgets. Based on their calculations, Batman would not survive a high velocity landing without a simple parachute, and he doesn't have the superhuman ability to regenerate if hurt.

The research was guided by Dr. Cheryl Hurkett, who stated her students' findings were backed up with "hard scientific facts, theories and calculations," per Gizmodo. While the subjects aren't real people, Hurkett is proud that the students' exercised their creativity and "experience what it's like to be at the cutting edge of scientific research."
