Following the recent success of James Wan's "The Conjuring 2: The Enfield Poltergeist," Wan is once again back to produce another horror flick titled, "Annabelle 2." In fact, the upcoming and highly anticipated sequel to Wan's evil doll movie has already started filming in Los Angeles under the direction of "Light's Out" filmmaker David F. Sandberg.
"Annabelle" has been one of the highly successful horror flicks of 2014 that earned almost $257 million globally. Now, the team is back for the sequel, "Annabelle 2," which will reportedly feature more evil dolls as it haunts theaters next year, Bloody Disgusting hints.
'Annabelle 2' Cast And Production
Producers Peter Safran and James Wan have finally reunited with Gary Dauberman, who wrote the "Annabelle" screenplay, for the upcoming sequel, "Annabelle 2." Under the helm of David F. Sandberg, the full cast includes Stephanie Sigman, Talitha Bateman, Lulu Wilson, Philippa Anne Coulthard, Grace Fulton, Lou Lou Safran, Samara Lee, Tayler Buck, Anthony LaPaglia and Miranda Otto, UPI reveals.
'Annabelle 2' Plot And Synopsis
As seen on the series of "Annabelle 2" on-the-set images posted by lead star Talitha Bateman (who plays as one of the orphans), it is safe to say that the upcoming "Annabelle" sequel will feature several scary-looking dolls. According to another Bloody Disgusting report, "Annabelle 2" will follow the tale of a nun who is "worried that her orphans are becoming a prey to an evil entity."
"Several years after the tragic death of their little girl, a dollmaker and his wife welcome a nun and several girls from a shuttered orphanage into their home, soon becoming the target of the dollmaker's possessed creation, Annabelle," "Annabelle 2" synopsis read, as per Dread Central.
'Annabelle 2' Release Date
A New Line Cinema presentation, "Annabelle 2" will be released in theaters on May 19, 2017. The horror movie sequel will reportedly be distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures, We Are Movie Geeks learns.
