The cast of "Lucifer" Season 2 has been busy back at work following a successful first season run. In fact, they are already ahead of the other shows when it comes to production and might soon come out with the first teaser to "Lucifer" Season 2. But why does it seem like there is a rush in filming?
'Lucifer' Season 2: First Episode Finished Filming
As most American TV shows for the upcoming fall season are still on hiatus, the cast of "Lucifer" are already in the middle of script read-throughs and filming. In fact, the writers of "Lucifer" Season 2 have been sharing behind the scenes and production photos to indicate what has been going in the set.
Last week, "Lucifer" Season 2 Episode 1 has been filmed and it was highlighted with Lucifer's visit to his psychiatrist. With the way things are going, fans of the light crime drama can expect a teaser to hit online soon.
'Lucifer' Season 2: Tom Ellis To Juggle Filming Schedule With 'Miranda'
"Lucifer" Season 2's early filming schedule might have something to do with Tom Ellis' participation in the planned production of "Miranda" in the U.K. Before coming to work in America, Tom Ellis was part of "Miranda," which was a hit TV series on the other side of the pond. The show already ended in 2015, but there are unconfirmed reports that BBC is planning to do a TV-to-movie version of the award-winning comedy show.
Speaking with Radio Times, Tom Ellis said that there is a strong potential to revisit "Miranda" and he is quite excited about it. He hints his character, Gary, could be married to Miranda and they are now starting a family. "The idea of them in their married life with children is something we'd like to explore," Tom Ellis said.
For now, "Miranda" on the big screen or as a TV special is just an idea, but it's not farfetched Tom Ellis might have to accommodate an extra workload soon. As it stands, he's still committed to "Lucifer" and he's not likely to give this up since it's one of the more popular new series on television today.
'Lucifer" Season 2 returns on Fox on Monday, Sept. 19, 2016 at 9:00 p.m. Aside from Tom Ellis, the show also stars Lauren German, Lesley-Ann Brandt, DB Woodside, Kevin Alejandro and Rachael Harris.
