"Outlander" is one of the most popular shows on the Starz network these days, with the drama already on its second season and going towards a third. Fans have been clamoring for the second season finale, but unfortunately will not get what they want, as the finale has been postponed for another week. This means that there will be no new episodes of "Outlander" this weekend.
This decision likely could have been caused by the observation of the fourth of July holiday because a lot of people, including the regular viewers of the show, will be out celebrating with their friends and family. If you are not going out, however; you're in luck, because details have been released regarding what will happen in "Outlander" second season ender. According to a report by the International Business Times, the season 2 finale will be entitled "Dragonfly in Amber" after the book that the show's second season was based on.
Starz is also set to run a marathon of "Outlander" episodes to keep waiting fans at bay, with TV Line releasing quick recaps of the episodes. Reports claim that "Dragonfly in Amber" will take viewers to the year 1968, where Claire and her daughter Brianna will meet the newly introduced adult version of Roger in Scotland. Much will also be revealed about the character Brianna, with her mother finally willing to tell her the truth about her mysterious past.
Jamie will also be seen preparing for the Battle of Culloden in the episode. "When Jamie's last ditch attempts to deter the Prince fail, he and Claire come up with a dangerous plan - which Dougal [Graham McTavish] overhears, inciting him to a murderous rage," says the official synopsis for the episode. Season 3 of "Outlander" is already in production with episodes that may release as early as next year.
