After the cancellation of 'Limitless' on CBS in May, viewers of the show have been hoping that a different network would come to its rescue. The series, which starred Jake McDorman and had Bradley Cooper as one of its producers and semi-regulars, was a freshman show with respectable ratings, yet the network still chose not to continue with it.
However, loyal viewers can watch the episodes again and first time viewers can finally see what the fuss was about "Limitless" now that Netflix has started streaming it this July. The fact that it is on the streaming service has ignited hopes for its renewal. Is it too late for Netflix to consider picking the show up for Season 2?
When the potential cancellation of "Limitless" was looming, it was made known that the series was being shopped around in other outlets so that it can continue with a second season. However, one of the producers, Craig Sweeny, finally confirmed that the show is officially dead in a Twitter message in May. Apparently, no other network was interested to pick it up and even streaming sites like Amazon and Netflix passed on it, per TV Line.
A fan discussion on Reddit alerted to "Limitless" Season 1 being on Netflix, which brought talks about the possibility of Season 2. Some stated that the show did have plenty of viewers on CBS, but it was cancelled because it didn't hit with the right target market.
Perhaps it will tap into the right audience on Netflix this time around. The streaming site might consider bringing "Limitless" back if enough people watch the series.
"Limitless" was based off the novel "The Dark Fields" by Alan Glynn. It was turned into a movie in 2011, starring Bradley Cooper and Robert de Niro. The TV series became the movie's spinoff and it ran as a crime procedural.
