The hype about the long overdue book, "The Winds of Winter" continues to live on despite the long wait. Fans have been waiting for the sixth book of the "A Song of Ice and Fire" series for four years and counting. Unfortunately, at the time only free "TWOW" chapters are all George RR Martin could offer. According to new reports, the celebrity author might read a new chapter at the Worldcon.
George RR Martin Is Attending The Worldcon
The man behind the popular book that inspired "Game of Thrones" will be attending the upcoming Worldcon. According to the Worldcon website, the five-day event will be held at the Kansas City Convention Center, Kansa City, Mo on Aug. 17 to Aug. 21.
In fact, the "The Winds of Winter" author calls out to his followers and invited them to join the Science Fiction and Fantasy Convention next month. "I will be there, along with hundreds of other writers, artists, and editors, and thousands of fans," George RR Martin wrote on his blog.
"If you have never been to a con before, this is the one to go to... assuming you're a reader. Worldcon has always had a strong literary slant, and while costuming, television, films, comics, and games are all included as well, it is the written word that occupies center ring here."
George RR Martin even shared a link on how to join the event. The "The Winds of Winter" author explained that a convention is a better place to meet and greet your favorite authors compared to a book signing.
George RR Martin To Read A New Chapter Of 'The Winds of Winter' At The Worldcon
Parent Herald previously reported that George RR Martin read a free chapter at Balticon. In the said event, the New Mexican author lets his audience choose what chapter they wish to listen among the three topics: Aeron Greyjoy, Arya Stark's alter ego Mercy and some ancient history of Westeros called "Sons of the Dragon."
The audience chose the Aegon chapter, where it was revealed that Euron Greyjoy is as twisted and sick as Ramsay Bolton. Thus, many are looking forward to hearing another "The Winds of Winter" chapter in the upcoming Worldcon.
Meanwhile, there are rumors that "The Winds of Winter" is already done. However, George RR Martin is just waiting for a year-end release.
