The Naughty Dog easter egg in "Uncharted 4: A Thief's End" for "The Last Of Us 2" says "American Daughters." However, could Naughy Dog actually move Ellie (Ashley Johnson) or Joel's (Troy Baker) story to Europe?
A separate Parent Herald story reports that Naughty Dog would have to beat its own standards in "The Last Of Us 2." In terms of cinematic experience Naughty Dog would have to redefine new industry standards to do one over "The Last Of Us," which has become gaming industry standards, as Hardcore Gamer points out.

In this respect, not only is "The Last Of Us 2" cinematic experience expected to be stronger but also the actual plot for Joel, Ellie or any other new character per se. Hence, the significance of the "Uncharted 4" easter egg had been repeatedly analyzed by enthusiasts for "The Last Of Us 2" hints.
A new map for "The Last Of Us 2" would definitely give the game a new but familiar feel. Movie Pilot points out that Naughty Dog relocating "The Last Of Us 2" to Europe would be interesting to say the least.
The Walking Dead vs. The Last of Us? Apparently so. https://t.co/YOdU8LgRfB — Neil Druckmann (@Neil_Druckmann) January 13, 2016
However, Movie Pilot also points out that Naughty Dog invests heavily on the story for "The Last Of Us" more than anything else. Again, "The Last Of Us" gameplay takes a backseat to the exposition of Ellie and Joel's stories.
If "The Last Of Us 2" without Ellie, Joel or both would not feel like the Naughty Dog hit, perhaps a "TLOU" sequel in a non-American map would have the same effect. "American Daughters" on US soil, it is likely then for "The Last Of Us 2."
For the time being, all eyes are on Naughty Dog and Neil Druckmann delivering the "Uncharted 4" single player DLC to take the cue for "The Last Of Us 2" development. As Parent Herald reports, Naughty Dog could see a "The Last Of Us 2" release schedule by 2018 or 2019 and early details by E3 2017.
