'Supergirl' is currently on hiatus but everyone is excited for its return in its new network. According to reports, there will be a lot of changes and new characters in the upcoming "Supergirl" Season 2.

1. Floriana Lima Joins 'Supergirl' Season 2 As A Lesbian Detective
According to the Hollywood Reporter, "The Family" alum Floriana Lima has landed a series regular role in "Supergirl" Season 2. Lima is set to play Maggie Sawyer's character, a lesbian detective who is a highly skilled member of the Science Police, the division that concentrates on metahumans. She will, later on, be involved with another female character, Batwoman. Maggie Sawyer is one of the first homosexual characters in the mainstream comics.
2. 'Supergirl' Season 2 Will Introduce Superman
In a separate report from the Hollywood Reporter, the "Teen Wolf" star Tyler Hoechlin will be playing Superman in "Supergirl" Season 2. There are no details how the series will introduce the superhero but many are wondering what took the production so long to introduce Superman in the first place.
3. Kara And James To Work On Their Romance In 'Supergirl' Season 2
It took an entire season before Kara (Melissa Benoist) and James Olsen (Mehcad Brooks) admitted their feelings for each other. The first "Supergirl" season ended with the pair sharing a passionate kiss. Fans are looking forward to seeing Kara and James' romance progress in "Supergirl" Season 2, will they make it? Will the alien-human relationship works?
4. US President Will Work With "Supergirl"
The "Wonder Woman" star Lynda Carter is set to join "Supergirl" Season 2 as the President of the United States. Now, many are wondering how the character will come across with Supergirl and if she will be willing to work with an alien superhero for the safety of the nation.
