'Mortal Kombat X' DLC Release News & Update: Subzero & Tremor 'Buffed Up'; Ed Boon Takes A Poll From Fans

Will the next "Mortal Kombat X" DLC release, Kombat Pack 3, feature buffed up popular and favorite characters Subzero and Tremor? That seems to be the consensus after NetherRealm Studios executive Ed Boon took a poll from fans. However, there is still no confirmation as to when the Kombat Pack 3 DLC will actually drop despite speculations it will be happening at the EVO.

'Mortal Kombat X' DLC Release: Was Kombat Pack 3 Promised At The EVO?

The EVO 2016 took place in Las Vegas last July 15 to 17 and gamers expecting good news at the event regarding "Mortal Kombat X" were disappointed when no new updates about the Kombat Pack 3 was announced. But its executive, Ed Boon, has been teasing fans on Twitter again with a promise that something is really up soon. He also defended that he didn't actually commit to anything for the EVO 2016, when followers accused him of lying about an EVO announcement.

'Mortal Kombat X' DLC Release: Subzero & Tremor For Kombat Pack 3?

Before the EVO, Ed Boon engaged "Mortal Kombat X" fans with a poll on their favorite characters. He asked Twitter users two questions on which DLC fighter and original cast fighter "could use a buff" for "Mortal Kombat X." He posted the results on Twitter as well. Some 31 percent picked Tremor for the DLC fighter, and 35 percent picked Subzero.

Speculations are that the poll was for NetherRealm Studios to decide on which character should be updated for "Mortal Kombat X" DLC Kombat Pack 3. However, fans are also expecting that characters like Fujin, Sindel and Smoke will be featured in the Kombat Pack 3 DLC since this didn't happen for previous DLC releases. When the DLC Kombat Pack 2 came out in March 2016, it featured characters like Xenomorph, Leatherface, Triborg and Bo'Rai Cho, per PlayStation Lifestyle.

The truth is NetherRealm Studios is more preoccupied working on its newest game, "Injustice 2," which is why "Mortal Kombat X" updates haven't been coming in a while. Fans remain patient about the newest DLC release and hopefully Ed Boon does deliver with something good real soon.
