"Limitless" is being given a fresh boost following the streaming of its first season on Netflix. The show, which originally ran on CBS during the 2015-2016 TV season, has been generating raves from Netflix's viewers since the episodes became available on its site this July.
The buzz around "Limitless" has led to the call to renew the series for Season 2 from avid viewers. Yet despite a lot of speculations that Netflix is planning to take the show in, a potential "Limitless" Season 2 is deemed dead and done. This was confirmed by none other than Craig Sweeney, the show's head writer and executive producer.
No Hope For 'Limitless Season 2' Renewal
A petition on Care 2 was established by fans who still want to watch more "Limitless" for Season 2. In May, CBS decided that the series will not be moving forward and no other outlet has picked up the series despite being scouted for potential networks or streaming service. Unfortunately for its fans, the decision to end the show remains the same despite contradictory reports.
Sweeney took to Twitter on July 19 and 22 to reconfirm that "Limitless" Season 2 is not going to happen. He also denied rumors that the show will be replacing actor Jake McDorman, who plays the lead character Brian Finch, for a speculated Season 2.
'Limitless' Cast: Where Are They Now?
The cast members have been released from their contracts for "Limitless" and are thus free to work in new productions. This further boosts the fact that the "Limitless" Season 2 is indeed no longer moving forward on any other network or streaming site. The actors have moved on.
Deadline reports that Jake McDorman has signed on to do a feature film with Paul Rudd called "Ideal Home." Production is already taking place in Mexico.
Jennifer Carpenter, who played the FBI agent Rebecca Harris, married just this June. Her husband, Seth Avett, is the father of her baby born in 2015. The actress was actually pregnant when filming scenes for "Limitless" last year, per Entertainment Weekly.
Also recently married and currently honeymooning is Tom Degnan, who played Agent Ike, per People Magazine. Hill Harper, who played FBI Agent Spellman Boyle, is filming "An Interview With God" and will also work on another movie, "Tobacco Valley."
