'The Winds of Winter' Release Date, Major Spoilers: George RR Martin Releasing New Book But NOT 'TWOW'; Sixth 'ASOIAF' Book Delayed Again?

The "A Song of Ice and Fire" fans have been clamoring for the sixth book of the series. Unfortunately, despite the intense hype for "The Winds of Winter," George RR Martin remains a slow writer and has never delivered the book.

According to recent reports, George RR Martin is releasing a new book. However, you will definitely be disappointed because it is not the long overdue book, "The Winds of Winter."

George RR Martin To Release A Book But Not 'The Winds of Winter'

According to Business Insider, the celebrity author, George RR Martin is releasing a new book. Unfortunately, it is not the book that everyone is clamoring to see on the bookshelves.

George RR Martin is about to release "High Stakes" and not "The Winds of Winter." The said book is the latest installment in the anthology superheroes series, "Wild Cards."

George RR Martin's "High Stakes" will see the light of day on Aug. 30. Meanwhile, the release date of "The Winds of Winter" remains unknown.

George RR Martin Not Dedicated To Finishing 'The Winds of Winter'

George RR Martin already said that he wants to get rid of "The Winds of Winter" on his desk. In fact, in different instances and in several statements the scribe said that he is willing to forego other commitment to finish "TWOW."

"I canceled two convention appearances, I'm turning down a lot more interviews-anything I can do to clear my decks and get this done," George RR Martin told Entertainment Weekly. On the said interview the "ASOIAF" author said that he wanted to release "The Winds of Winter" before "Game of Thrones" season 6 but he failed.

In addition, Parent Herald reported that George RR Martin will not work on other projects until he delivers "The Winds of Winter." "I am not writing anything until I deliver WINDS OF WINTER. Teleplays, screenplays, short stories, introductions, forewords, nothing," he wrote on his blog. But wait, there's a catch, he added, "And I've dropped all my editing projects but Wild Cards."

So, editing "Wild Cards" is still on George RR Martin's plate so it is not a new task. But did this affect his progress in "The Winds of Winter?" Do you agree that the author is not determined in finishing "TWOW?" Share your thoughts in the comment section below.
