"Outlander" Season 3 spoilers reveal that Sam Heughan, Caitriona Balfe and the entire cast will be back on set for the new season of the Starz time traveler series. The upcoming season will be based on Diana Gabaldon's third book, "Voyager."
Details about "Outlander" Season 3 were revealed via the show's official Twitter account, as well as in Heughan's own account. The cast and crew will be filming several scenes in Scotland, but since some scenes from Gabaldon's third book takes place in the sea, it was revealed that these will be shot in Jamaica.
Filming for "Outlander" Season 3 is quite earlier than usual since it was teased previously that the upcoming season will air sooner than expected. It can be recalled that the show has already been renewed for seasons three and four even before the series aired season 2 on TV.
In an interview at the Television Critics Association press day, Starz executive officer Chris Albrecht teased on the future of "Outlander" beyond Season 3, reports Vulture. Many fans have been worried about the future of the show since the series was recently snubbed at the Emmys.
"[Diana Gabaldon's books, which are the basis for the series] are easier to carry on your iPad than under your arm, but they're monumental, gigantic undertakings," he said.
"Outlander" Season 3 will see the return of Caitriona Balfe and Sam Heughan, as Jamie and Claire will reunite after 20 years. New characters are also expected to show up in the next season.
