With the impending release of her ninth studio album this month, fans will be seeing more Britney Spears news on the Internet. But the Pop Princess might be making different headlines with a recent statement she gave about fellow pop star Taylor Swift.
In the latest in Britney Spears news, the "Hold It Against Me" singer was asked to choose who would she rather be with on a flight to Sydney: Taylor Swift or Katy Perry, Entertainment Weekly reported. The question could be in reference to the ongoing feud between Swift and Perry and it seems Spears is Team Katy on this one. I don't know, it's hard," she said. "They're both so cool. I don't know. Maybe because I've met Katy Perry, I would say Taylor Swift, because I've never met her before."
That might seem an innocent comment but the two have actually met, at least twice! Both have been photographed during the MTV Video Music Awards in 2008 when Spears brought home Video of the Year and if TMZ is to be believed, also when Swift was still a fledgling in the music business. Many fans misinterpreted this as Spears not liking Swift.
Meanwhile, in other Britney Spears news, rumor has it that Swift's squad mate Selena Gomez will be featured in Spears' new album. According to Popsugar, Spears responded to a Snapchat clip of Gomez expressing her excitement on being on the same song as the "Toxic" singer. Both appeared in the Orlando shooting tribute song "Hands" last month. "Technically, yes... But when are we working on our actual duet @selenagomez?" the 34-year old asked.
