'Alaskan Bush People' Cancellation Rumors: No More Season 6 Because Of Matt Brown's Alcohol Struggle? Discovery Channel Has Not Confirmed Renewal

The fifth season of the Discovery Channel show "Alaskan Bush People" just ended and the network not confirming the renewal of the show led to some speculations that there will no longer be a season 6. According to reports, Matt Brown's alcohol struggle might be one of the top reasons why the show is set to be axed.

In a report by Blasting News, Discovery Channel has not reacted to the reports about "Alaskan Bush People" being canceled despite the many reports about the network's new chief, Rich Ross, wanting to do away with shows that were "fake." Accordingly, aside from "Mermaid" and the "Shark Week," "Alaskan Bush People" is also considered as a fake reality TV show.

One of the fake claims is that the Browns, who are the center of "Alaskan Bush People," secretly using some modern-day conveniences despite their claims that they are not. Another is that they reportedly live in a small town when they are not filming for "Alaskan Bush People." One more claim is that Bill reuniting with his estranged daughter as well as Ami reuniting with her estranged mother were reportedly scripted.

Inquisitr also reported that aside from the supposed fake scenes for the "Alaskan Bush People," the scandals surrounding the family, the low ratings, and Matt Brown's alcohol issues might have weighed in on the cancellation of the show.

Two members of the Brown family were also convicted for stealing money in oil revenue from Alaska. A plea agreement was made in order to keep the other family members of the Browns out of jail. Due to this, the ratings for the "Alaskan Bush People" significantly dropped. More on the ratings, as compared to the fourth and fifth season of "Alaskan Bush People," the show lost around 50 percent of their audiences for the latest season.

More on Matt, he admitted that he was forced to leave "Alaskan Bush People" as well as his family behind in order to get treatment for his alcohol abuse. There were reports in the past that the show would go on without Matt but it might not be possible thus the rumored cancellation.
