NBA Trade Rumors: Lakers Shipping Out Nick Young Over Kenneth Faried?

With the issue between Nick Young and D'Angelo Russell still not settled, reports say that the Los Angeles Lakers is still considering shipping out Nick Young. The NBA team could send him over to the Denver Nuggets in exchange for Kenneth Faried.

After a video of Nick Young's infidelity was leaked and went viral in the middle of the 2015-2016 NBA season, it caused a rift between him and D'Angelo Russell, an issue that needs to be fixed so the locker room could get over it. CBS Sports said this is one of the weaknesses that the Lakers needs to resolve before the new season begins to avoid any conflict from arising and to ensure a solid teamwork.

Trading Nick Young would be best for the Lakers, Centrio Times reported. Aside from the issue with Russell, Swaggy P's performance also declined last season, recording an average of 7.3 points per game, 0.6 assists and 1.8 rebounds. He was also placed on the inactive list after head coach Byron Scott noticed his lack of focus in the game. Kenneth Faried would help the LA Lakers strengthen its units with his defense and tenacity.

However, will the LA Lakers keep him instead? After all, he had a remarkable performance in the Week 10 of Drew League, where he scored 25 points and nine rebounds, which could be a sign that he is shaping up for the next season. And he there's still two years remaining in his contract worth $11 million, SportsRageous noted.

As the Lakers is not making a move yet, although it has been well reported that they want to get rid of Nick Young, the 31-year-old shooting guard doesn't seem to be taking things quite well. Recent reports surfaced that Young was spotted shopping for furniture in his pajamas, and when asked about this, he said, "I'm going through something in life."
