Spotify Launches New Gaming Section; Features Musical Hits From Video Games

Spotify, the largest music-streaming service app in the world, has something for all of the gamers around the world. Recently, the Swedish music giant has launched a new library, solely dedicated to the biggest musical hits and soundtrack from video games.

It's no secret that video game developers take a respective amount of time finding or creating the perfect soundtrack to match the setting of their games. From the soothing melodic themes of "Final Fantasy", to the latest hip-hop tracks featured in "Grand Theft Auto", there's nothing quite like the perfect song to set the mood when players immerse themselves in games.

Spotify, the world's number one music streaming service, according to Billboard, has taken notice of the powerful influence that soundtracks play on video games, and has since opened up their latest gaming section. According to Hypebeast, the section includes musical scores and original songs that appear on video games, as well as curated playlists by various gamers and media platforms.

The new Gaming section from Spotify also features playlists that aren't necessarily from video games, but also feature songs that get players into a "gaming mood". The Verge reports that one of the playlists from the Spotify gaming section features a playlist called "Power Gaming", which features hit songs from hip-hop artists like Eminem, Dr. Dre, and Designer. This is certain to get gamers banging their heads while getting ready to take on a new gaming adventure, and the Spotify gaming section can also be used for larger gaming parties for everybody.

Android Authority also reports that the Spotify Gaming section is currently live and ready for Spotify users to explore. The gaming section can be easily browsed within the app from all platforms that support it, including iOS, Android, Playstation, and desktop.

As of 2016, Spotify currently has over half a billion users and 100 million active users worldwide.
