Gaming News: Bethesda’s ‘Elder Scrolls: VI’ Already Under Development but Still Years Away

With the critical and commercial success of the "Elder Scrolls" series, especially "Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim", fans have been wondering when Bethesda, the masterminds behind the action-fantasy franchise, will release the next installment. Many are even doubting if there is even going to be another "Elder Scrolls" release, but thanks to an announcement made by Bethesda, there is going to be a 6th game, but it's not gonna be ready until very soon.

After it's release in 2011, "Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim", has been met with worldwide success, with critics calling it "the greatest RPG of all time" due to its in-depth storyline, breathtaking scenery, visually stunning action, and with everything being beautifully put together, "Skyrim" is hailed as one of the greatest video games to ever be released.

It wouldn't be a surprise that Bethesda would be hard at work in developing the next installment of the popular franchise, but 5 years after the release of "Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim", there is still no word about anything related to "Elder Scrolls VI".

Bethesda has kept quiet regarding "Elder Scrolls VI", until Bethesda Vice President Pete Hines spoke out that there will be, in fact, a 6th chapter in the series. According to PC Gamer, Hines and his team were planning on keeping the game a secret until it was ready for launching, making it a surprise release like Bethesda's other hit game, Fallout 4.

Hines also states that Bethesda will not mention anything about "Elder Scrolls VI" until the release date is much sooner. "You're not going to be hearing first details on "Elder Scrolls VI" years before the game comes out, absolutely not," says Hines, adding that the only reason why they have confirmed the game's existence is that he wanted people to stop asking questions about it.

According to Gamespot, Bethesda is already working on projects for the next decade, and are sure that all of their fans will love the outcome, whether or not one of those projects include "Elders Scroll: VI". For the meantime, fans playing on newer consoles such as the Playstation 4 and Xbox One can get their "Elder Scrolls" fix, as a remastered version of "Skyrim" will soon be released this year.
