Reports have surfaced saying that NBA team Miami Heat is cautiously positive that Chris Bosh will be coming back to the court to play this upcoming 2016-2017 NBA season after his health dilemma. However, other reports are saying that Miami Heat is considering to waive him and use the stretch provision.
Miami Heat owner Micky Arison recently included Bosh in discussing the team for the upcoming season this year but he pointed out that nothing is certain yet. After Dwayne Wade exited Miami Heat, they would really need Bosh to come back as he is the best player on the roster of the team.
However, according to Sportsblog, Bosh has not been cleared yet to play since he had blood clots. He has not been playing for Miami Heat for two straight seasons now. Miami Heat president Pat Riley also said in a statement that they are trying to find ways to work around the issue such as limiting Bosh's travel schedule and workload. They will reportedly continue to monitor the matter until September.
Once the doctors give Bosh a green light regarding playing for Miami Heat again, they will reportedly have no issue adding him to the roster alongside Hassan Whiteside.
However, once Bosh will not again be allowed to play for the 2016-2017 NBA Season for Miami Heat, they might consider applying the medical waiver and allow Bosh's contract off the books. The 32-year-old power forward's team initially had until August 31 to waive the stretch provision on him but Riley said that they could wait until early September since Bosh is "an X factor here."
Analysts are saying that Miami Heat might not use the stretch provision since it will take up around 10 percent of the NBA team's salary cap until the 2022-2023 NBA season.
Aside from Whiteside, Miami Heat also has Goran Dragic to play for the 2016-2017 NBA season.
