An actor who formely played a hated character on "The Good Wife" might agree to reprise his role for the spinoff series that will be coming to the CBS All Access platform this spring. Michael J. Fox, who played the cunning lawyer Louis Canning in "The Good Wife," expressed that he's open to playing the character again. He also talked about what it's like to play the lawyer who had been at odds with Alicia Florrick.
Speaking with The Hollywood Reporter, Michael J. Fox revealed that he doesn't exactly know if Louis Canning will be in "The Good Wife" spinoff. He said he's not aware if there have been talks about his character joining the show, and he's not expecting too much from it. "I haven't given it much thought," he told THR.
However, he might just consider joining the series if the offer is good. Landing the part of Louis Canning on "The Good Wife" has been sort of determined by fate. He wasn't expecting to be in the show six years ago, but at that the time he started watching the series -- and eventually became a big fan -- he got a call from the writers to join the show.
He loved what they pitched, especially when his character, who is suffering from a disability, was kind of a douche on "The Good Wife." Playing Louis Canning has been fun for Michael J. Fox because it's really a big departure from his other famous good guy roles like Alex P. Keaton ("Family Ties") or Marty McFly ("Back to the Future"). He's not closing the door at reprising this.
Meanwhile, "The Good Wife" spinoff still doesn't have any official title at this point. But production is supposedly going to kick off in the next month. Viewers should learn more about the show soon.
"The Good Wife" spinoff stars Christine Baranski and Cush Jumbo, who will be reprising their roles as Diane Lockhart and Lucca Quinn from the original series. It was confirmed back in May, via TV Line. It will be available via subscription streaming service on CBS All Access in the spring.
