‘American Horror Story’ Season 6 Air Date & Spoilers: Lady Gaga No Longer Returning?

A few weeks before the "American Horror Story" season 6 hits the small screen, it is looking more and more that Lady Gaga will no longer be returning to the gothic horror series. The "Born This Way" singer, who played the Contessa in the fifth season, previously stated that she will be making an appearance in "American Horror Story" season 6 though she has not disclosed as to how involved she will be.

The singer, whose real name is Stefani Joan Germanotta, will be busy in the coming weeks as she prepares for the release of her new album. In fact, the first single from her new album, "Perfect Illusion," will make its way to stores even before "American Horror Story" season 6 premieres, MTV reported. Rumor has it, Gaga will perform "Perfect Illusion" live for the first time during the MTV Video Music Awards 2016 on Sunday, August 28.

Apart from her return to music, another thing that could deny Gaga the chance to return to "American Horror Story" season 6 is her film debut. Lady Gaga will be partnering with Bradley Cooper for the third remake of the classic film "A Star Is Born." According to Variety, the movie will serve as Gaga's first official outing as a movie star in hopes to carry over her music stardom to a potential film acting career.

"American Horror Story" season 6 will premiere on Wednesday, September 14 at 10 pm ET on FX.
