Vince Carter, one of the most recognizable players in the NBA, has been around for almost two decades, and before he finally hangs up his sneakers, he wants to play two more seasons in the league and make it a 20-year basketball career.
Vince Carter has always been a player that basketball fans loved to watch, known for being a human highlight reel, carter has had his fair share of highlights over his long career in the NBA. Famous for his jaw-dropping dunks, and eye-opening clutch plays, earning him the nickname "Half Man- Half Amazing," Carter was one of the players that everybody wanted to see on the court.
After 18 seasons, 8 All-Star selections, an NBA Slam Dunk trophy, an Olympic Gold medal, and Rookie of the Year award, Carter still doesn't want to call it a career. In the 2016-2017 season, Carter's 19th, he will continue to be a part of the Memphis Grizzlies, a team where he still has a one year contract with. Carter says that his 19th year is already going down for sure, and after that, he will look for his 20th, according to Nothin' But Nets.
When Carter was asked why he wanted to continue playing basketball after nearly two decades, he responded that it was because of his love for the game, saying that he wanted to keep on putting the work in. Carter added that he'll stop when he no longer wants to play, that's when he'll step away from the game, in an interview with ESPN.
At the age of 39, Carter has yet to win an NBA Championship, while playing for 6 different teams in the last 18 years, including the Toronto Raptors, where he began his NBA career, the New Jersey Nets, the Orlando Magic, the Phoenix Suns, the Dallas Mavericks, and finally the Memphis Grizzlies.
