Part of being a dedicated "Pokémon GO" player is making sure that you'll win Gym battles to claim it for the team you belong to. It would be nice to be able to know your chance of success in winning Gym battles. Thankfully, there's a new tool to determine just that.
Pokéwin is a user-friendly app developed by Reddit user Shyrioon. Pokéwin's main function is to list all the opponents that can beat or can be beaten by a player's Pokémon. The Combat Power or CP of the opposing Pokémon is displayed, as well as the best attack moves to beat it. The app does the latter by executing an algorithm that predicts the Pokémon's Type first and then determines the best attack move so a Pokémon can successfully defeat its opponent, according to Pokémon GO Hub.
Pokéwin reportedly boosts "Pokémon GO" players' chances at winning Gym battles by 60 percent. As for the CP counters, Pokéwin users can simply edit the CP of the Pokémon they own and other CP counters will get updated automatically.
Some users are doubtful of Pokéwin, but the folks at Pokémon GO Hub claimed that the web-based app works. The tool may be a third-party app, but it does not use Niantic's server resources. This means that Pokéwin users are not in danger of soft bans or permanent bans, iTechPost wrote.
Another tool that can help "Pokémon GO" players in Gym battles is PokéType - Dex. This tool teaches users about the Pokémon they're about to fight, including its type, strengths, attacks, and resistances. Players can also filter Pokémon's base stats to find out which of the creatures are the strongest and weakest.
Another tool useful in Gym battles is GO Helper for Pokémon GO. The app provides players with the most effective attack moves to defeat a Pokémon. You can simply enter a Pokémon's name or a Pokémon Type to determine its weaknesses.
PokéFind, meanwhile, is an app that helps "Pokémon GO" players find Pokémon in real time. The tool shows players how long a Pokémon will stay in a spot via a tiny countdown clock displayed under every Pokémon icon on the map.
PokéFind also has a CP/Evolution Calculator that displays a Pokémon's CP so players can ensure that the Candies will be well-spent for evolutions. With this, "Pokémon GO" users will know how powerful a Pokémon will get after its evolution.
