The Milwaukee Bucks have recently signed free agent shooting guard Orlando Johnson a few weeks before the NBA season is set to start. The 27-year-old Johnson has bounced around the league and overseas, but now has found his home with the Bucks.
The Milwaukee Bucks have a tough season ahead of them with a young core group mixed with a few veteran signings, the Milwaukee ball club looks uncertain going into the regular season with plenty of questions surrounding the team's chemistry and where they would fit in the league's ever tough Eastern division.
The Bucks though, have made a few key signings over the summer with the likes of high school standout Thon Maker, veteran point guard Jason Terry, and former NBA champion Matthew Dellavedova added to the roster, and now the acquisition of Johnson. The announcement was made by Bucks General Manager John Hammond, according to NBA.com
Johnson who has yet to play more than two seasons with a single NBA team, has had quite the success in the NBA's development league, before going abroad to play in Spain, then had quite the season playing in the Philippines, and then once again going back to the development league. Johnson was picked up by the Pelicans in the latter part of the 2015-2016 season, before going into free agency.
Orlando Johnson is a crafty shooting guard which can help space the floor for the ill-shooting bucks. Johnson, who has a D-League career average 16.8 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 3.0 assists, according to the NBA D-League Player Profiles, will be a nice addition to the Bucks roster. Even though the D-League is a far cry from actual NBA level competition, Johnson will give a nice boost even if he couldn't produce the numbers he had in the development league.
The Milwaukee Bucks will look to do better this season, and hopefully make it back to the post-season Playoffs.
