The third season of "iZombie" is looking to make some shifts and it's likely that stunt casting could happen. If given a chance, the show's star, Rose McIver, is hoping her real life pals Jennifer Morrison and Melanie Lynskey would grace the series. She'd also like to have Bill Murray play her dad.
Speaking with fans at a panel, Rose McIver, who plays Liv Moore on "iZombie," stated that she's curious about her character's family background. While her mom and brother were featured in "iZombie" Season 1, they were missing from the storylines in the second season.
Viewers also never got to see Liv's dad in "iZombie" and Rose has been making a case to have Bill Murray play him, if the role actually ever comes up. "I want Bill Murray. Get him. Clear his schedule," the actress joked, per Showbiz Junkie.
"iZombie" creator Rob Thomas admits that Liv Moore's (Rose McIver) family was deliberately omitted in the storylines, per a Fanbolt interview. The truth was that there were five script drafts in the previous season with the family in it, but it was scrapped. Because the show has gotten bigger with its series regulars, there was not enough leeway to put the family's story on the show. Watch Rob Thomas talk about this in the video below.
Rob Thomas also dished that they've been planning for a long time to bring Melanie Lynskey on board "iZombie," especially with stories where Rose will have to use her native New Zealand accent for Liv. Both actresses are good friends in real life and Lynskey is also from New Zealand. The only problem is, they still have to work out her schedule as Lynskey is working on several movies and TV shows.
Speaking of guest stunt casting, Rose McIver expressed that she hopes Jennifer Morrison would make an appearance on "iZombie." McIver is also good friends with her as she used to be part of Morrison's show, "Once Upon a Time." Watch the actress talk about what her expectations are for "iZombie" Season 3 in the video below.
