The premiere of "Blindspot" Season 2 is finally here! Avid viewers awaiting answers when the show returns will definitely get these in the first episode. When "Blindspot" left off in Season 1, Jane (Jaimie Alexander) has been at odds with the FBI. However, it looks like things will be resolved with the show's return.
"Blindspot" executive producer Martin Gero stated, via TV Insider, that the upcoming season will have the team moving on from learning more about Jane's identity, to finding out what's the scheme behind her former organization. Answers that were left hanging last season will be given in the first episode and the main focus now is to fix Jane's relationship with Weller (Sullivan Stapleton) and the rest of her FBI handlers.
This is where "Blindspot" new addition, Archie Panjabi, comes in. The actress will play an NSA agent, Nas Kamal, who is tracking down Jane's old syndicate. "Archie's character trusts Jane more than Weller and the rest of the team do at the beginning of the season," said Gero in the report.
"Blindspot" Season 2 picks up three months after the events of last season, so in the show, the animosity between Jane and the FBI has gone on for a while. The relationship between Jane and Weller has completely reset, as the latter has lost his trust on his former ally completely. Thus, it would seem like "Blindspot" is starting anew with its story in the second season. "What they're able to do and how they're able to interact with each other feels completely new," said Gero via Entertainment Tonight.
Gero also promised that viewers will be "blown away" when "Blindspot" Season 2 airs its first two episodes. The show will be introducing Roman, played by Luke Mitchell, who used to work with Jane and has a lot of similarities with her. Their dynamics will be evident from the get go as well, which thrilled even Jaimie Alexander.
"Blindspot" Season 2 will air on Wednesday, Sept. 14 at 10 p.m. on NBC. Check out the teaser for the upcoming episode below.
