"The Walking Dead" graphic novel series writer and franchise creator Robert Kirkman recently revealed what might be in store for the upcoming "The Walking Dead" season 7, revealing that the main group might end up falling apart in what he described as an "epic" new season.
Speaking with Entertainment Weekly, Kirkman told of the things that viewers can expect once "The Walking Dead" season 7 starts in October. One of those things is the inevitability of the Atlanta survivors going their separate ways later on in the series.
According to Kirkman, after some more hardships and trials that Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) and his people will go through, later episodes of "The Walking Dead" season 7 "will be pushing them apart in a lot of different ways" and that there is "going to be a lot of division in the group and a lot of conflict."
One of the primary causes of the group falling apart is the whole business of having to deal with the major death coming in the first episode of "The Walking DeaD" season 7. When the previous season ended, Rick's group ended up biting more than they could chew when they thought they could easily take care of the Saviors only to end up getting caught.
The last season then ended with the group getting presented to the Saviors' leader Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan), who was shown beating one of the characters to death with his baseball bat Lucille. The first episode of "The Walking Dead" season 7 will finally reveal who this unfortunate character was, with the later episodes featuring the survivors having to deal with the loss.
In dealing with that loss, it seems some of the characters will no longer be able to stand staying with the group and will highly likely end up leaving later on in "The Walking Dead" season 7 if they are not forced out other ways. One of those characters is Carol Peletier (Melissa McBride).
Speaking with Comic Book, McBride hinted at some things coming for her character in "The Walking Dead" season 7. During the interview, some of McBride's words sounded much more ominous that implied Carol will depart the group in some form.
One very dark interpretation of the actress' words implies that Carol could end up going insane, possibly even following in the footsteps of her version in the "The Walking Dead" comic books and end up eventually committing suicide-by-zombie. At any rate, it seems like "The Walking Dead" season 7 will have the main group lose at least one of its strongest characters.
