Upcoming "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story" has been setting its sights on hitting the big screen before Christmas this year. However, new releases on merch as well as image teasers can't be as exciting as seeing the new heroes battling flying Stormtroopers.
This September 30 would have fans of the long-standing franchise lining up on queue to get a hold of new additions to the Star Wars' creatively expanding family of characters. This wouldn't leave Luke Skywalker fans disappointed, since there have been many speculations on the latest toy design to be released at the said event, Slashfilm reports.
The toy of interest is that of a Stormtrooper fitted with a jetpack, thus getting the name of Jump Trooper. It is known in the Star Wars comics of their origins and what these Stormtroopers are intended for, yet it's not every day a Star Wars hero defends himself (or herself) in the franchise.
"Rogue One: A Star Wars Story" could be featuring these Jump Troopers in the standalone movie, as these have been already seen in prior Star Wars' releases like Star Tours - The Adventure Continues, to name a few. As described in the comic, Jump Troopers are skilled in bounding over walls when surprising their enemies. These special troopers also have heavy artillery, such as shield generators and RT-97C blasters.
Hasbro's Go Rogue videos have also hinted on new twists. One confirmation would be that of Eadu as another dusty planet, rather than an unnamed fiend or hero.
The Star Wars' movie marketing team has also released a couple of Rogue One team posters, according to Moviefone. With Felicity Jones as Jyn Erso leading the pack, the Death Star mission in "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story" is slated to be a huge and entertaining mix of sci-fi action and comedic substance this December 16.
