NBA Latest Trade News: Rudy Gay No Longer Wants To Play Alongside DeMarcus Cousins? Joining Russel Westbrook In OKC?

Rudy Gay and DeMarcus Cousins work hand in hand for the Sacramento Kings but for the NBA 2016-2017 season, rumors are saying that he wants to join the Oklahoma City Thunders. OKC is reportedly eyeing him as a replacement of Kevin Durant and to play alongside Russel Westbrook.

Sportsrageous reported that Gay has informed the Sacramento Kings will be exercising his player option to become an unrestricted free agent next year but the NBA team has not yet confirmed this. However, reports have surfaced that Sacramento Kings is now looking for another team to trade Gay to as they want to move him while they could get another or other players in return rather than losing him without any player.

The latest team being linked to Gay for the most recent NBA trade rumors is Oklahoma City Thunder as they recently lose Durant in the free agency and they have been reportedly talking to many teams to acquire other players like Jimmy Butler, Blake Griffin, and Paul George to play alongside Westbrook. As per the basketball analysts, acquiring Gay for this season will be the best short-term option for the team.

Gay averaged 17.2 points and 6.5 rebounds per game during the 2015-2016 NBA season so the 30-year-old forward will be helpful for the team.

Fansided reported that other NBA teams considering to take Gay are Miami Heat, Cleveland Cavaliers, Houston Rockets, and New Orleans Pelicans. These teams have not yet confirmed or denied the NBA trade rumors.

Sacramento Kings owner Vivek Ranadive is reportedly still hoping that Gay will still change his mind this year and possibly re-sign with the team next summer in order for the team's duo to still play strongly together with Cousins.

Gay has not yet commented on the possible teams that are being linked to him. Which team do you think will Gay be part of? Will he re-sign with Sacramento Kings next season? Let us know your thoughts.
