Nvidia is currently offering a free copy of Microsoft's new "Gears of War 4," with the game set to come for free with every purchase of either the GeForce GTX 1080 or the GTX 1070 graphics cards ahead of the game's official launch on Oct. 11.
Nvidia announces the news, as shared by The Verge, that purchasing either the GeForce GTX 1080 or the GeForce GTX 1070 graphics cards will net buyers a free copy of "Gears of War 4." Specifically, buying either a GTX 1080 or a GTX 1070 card by itself, as part of a pre-built desktop rig, or as part of some of the new laptops recently released will come with a free copy of "Gears of War 4."
The promo also carries a double bonus of sorts for "Gears of War" fans who also own an Xbox One; "Gears of War 4" is included in Microsoft's new Xbox Play Anywhere program, meaning that getting a copy of "Gears of War 4" with purchases of either a GTX 1080 or GTX 1070 will net versions for both the PC and the Xbox One.
Microsoft also announced that "Gears of War 4" has "Gone Gold," which apparently means that the game has already been released for copies to get manufactured. With about a little under three weeks still to go before the "Gears of War 4" Oct. 11 release date, it means there is a strong chance that will be no delays and every GTX 1080 or 1070 buyer can get their cards on time.
Nvidia's promo with the GeForce cards benefits greatly from "Gears of War 4" "Going Gold," due to the promo running as early as now until the end of October. In other words, depending on location and regional restrictions, people who buy a GTX 1080 or a GTX 1070 card might be able to get their hands on the game before it even releases.
