Something bad is up on "Jane the Virgin" as Gina Rodriguez was recently spotted sobbing on the set, which happens to take place in a hospital. The actress was apparently in the middle of filming a pivotal scene for the premiere episode, which could suggest Michael's (Brett Dier) fate. Rumors have been surfacing since the end of last season that Michael could die on the show.
"You see her in the lowest of lows," said the "Jane the Virgin" star about that particular scene, via Entertainment Weekly. Newly-married Jane will be reeling from her husband being shot point blank last season, and the actress admits that the story arc when the show returns will be "very heavy."
Though from different interviews, Gina Rodriguez and "Jane the Virgin" creator Jennie Snyder Urman have hinted that Michael will be alright. It still doesn't stop fans from speculating that the opposite will happen. Curiously though, Brett Dier has been on the set since filming for Season 3 started in August, as several social media postings have suggested.
Meanwhile, "Jane the Virgin's" anticipated episode featuring Gloria Estefan, and her husband Emilio, has finished filming. The cast have shared photos from the set with their famous guest stars on their social media accounts, including on the episode director Eva Longoria's Instagram.
"So happy to actually be a part of one of my favorite shows on television, 'Jane the Virgin,'" said Gloria Estefan, per E! Online. "It feels like family," the Grammy-winning hit maker added.
The Estefans' cameo on "Jane the Virgin" was announced in early September, where they will play the best friends of Jane's father, Rogelio (Jaime Camil). In the storyline, Rogelio apparently seeks the help of the Estefans into adapting another Latin telenovela for American viewers. Eva Longoria's directorial job was also announced along with this stunt casting.
"Jane the Virgin" Season 3 will begin its run on Monday, Oct. 17 at 9 p.m. on The CW. Catch up on the show's news and updates on this site.
